What is CoolSculpting®?

This way to combat those stubborn fat cells in various areas of the body was developed by a researcher at Harvard, who discovered that when cool temperatures were applied to cells, it killed off the fat cells but left other skin cells intact. The technology was cleared by the FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) in 2012 and uses a process called cryolipsis. A section of fat is put between two panels in the tool, and temperature cooling is applied. It can be used on many areas of the body, including the thighs, stomach, neck, chin, and arms. The procedure times can vary, based on the size of the body part that is being targeted, with the average time being approximately one hour.

Does CoolSculpting® really work?

This non-invasive treatment provides patients with visible results, and studies have shown that patients experienced reduced fat measurements. A 2018 study, “confirmed that contrast cryolipolysis is safe and effective in reducing the fat layer and improving body contouring.” Results become visible to the patients within two to four weeks, and some people see even more improvements as far as six months later.
