Ear Lobe Reconstruction
Ear lobes can become damaged, stretched, or torn from long-term wear of heavy earrings, gauged jewelry, or from injury. For many, the fashion trends or aesthetic appeal of ear jewelry from the past is now a source of dissatisfaction. Ear lobe reconstruction aims to restore a natural appearance and normal function to damaged tissue.
Ear Lobe Reconstruction Goals
- Restore normal function, ability to wear earrings
- Remove excess or damaged tissue
- Enhance the appearance of the ear lobes
What to Expect
You will begin by having a complimentary consultation to discuss your concerns. At this visit, we will examine your ear lobes to determine if a reconstructive procedure will help you achieve your goals.
Your ear lobe reconstruction will be done in-office in our minor procedure suite with local anesthetic. Some relaxing medication is also available for individuals experiencing anxiety about the procedure. The procedure itself typically takes under one hour and you will return home immediately after.
The recovery period is very brief and quite tolerable. Most patients return to normal daily activities within 24 hours. You may pierce your ears 6 weeks after your procedure.
