Understanding the Pricing of Filler and BOTOX® Treatments

When it comes to BOTOX® injections, it can be tempting to opt for the cheapest option available. However, getting BOTOX® is not a decision that should be taken lightly. It’s important to consider the qualifications and experience of the injector, as well as the quality of the product being used. That’s where experts like Renew Medical Spa come in. With years of experience and a commitment to using only the highest quality products, Renew Medical Spa can provide you with the best possible results at a price that’s fair and reasonable. In this blog post, we’ll explore the value of working with an expert injector like Renew Medical Spa when considering the cost of BOTOX® and fillers.

Costs by unit measurements

There are several things to consider when determining the how much filler or BOTOX® you need. One would be the amount of enhancement you are looking for – do you want a slight, moderate, or major change? The other consideration would be age. Starting in our mid 30’s we begin to lose approximately 1cc of volume in the facial area per year. Because of this, most patients require one syringe of filler per decade of life. However, when we are looking at the Neuromodulators, like BOTOX®, Daxxify® or Dysport® the cost is measured in units since it won’t often take an entire bottle for these treatments.

Understanding Units:

The most common areas for BOTOX® treatment are the forehead, crow’s feet, and the frown area. Other areas of the face and body, such as neck bands, may be treated in an “off-label” fashion. No matter where you get your BOTOX® from it will always be measured out in units. Allergan is the maker of FDA-Approved BOTOX® (botulinum toxin), and it has set guidelines for cosmetic professionals. According to Allergan’s guidelines, the following units should be given:

  • Crow’s Feet – 10 to 12 Botox Units per eye (2 eyes would mean 20 to 24 units)
  • Frown Lines – 20 Botox Units
  • Forehead lines – 20 Botox Units

You can get multiple BOTOX® injections during your visit, so if you were looking to address all three areas, you might need up to a total of 64 units. The cost of BOTOX® is influenced by factors like the total units used and the severity of the area of treatment. This is merely a guide; your cosmetic professional will make their recommendations during your consultation. It’s essential to ask as many questions as you need and be as descriptive as possible. One key factor is ensuring clear lines of communication and setting expectations upfront.

With both Neuromodulators and Fillers, if having your first visit our injectors always start you off on a lower dosage regimen, as we can always build and stack treatments later if more dramatic results are desired; however it’s important to remember that not all effects are immediate. Its often recommended to see how you like results before modifying your treatment with average
results coming to fruition within 3-4 days but can take up to two weeks for full result to take effect.

Syringes:

  • Under-Eye Circles – need 1 syringe under each eye.
  • Sunken Cheeks- need 1 syringe per cheek.
  • Nasolabial Folds – need 1 syringe per side.
  • Thinning Lips- need 1 syringe total.
  • Marionette Lines- need 1 syringe per side.

How much will it cost per Syringe?

Now that you know how many syringes you may need to help achieve a rejuvenated appearance, you want to know how much each syringe is. According to Juvéderm a syringe costs an average of $620 per syringe. However, that number can vary greatly depending on several factors, but typically hinders on the types of filler used. Juvederm® provides various products for specific areas, like Juvederm Volbella XC®, Juvederm Ultra XC®, and Restylane® Lyft for lips. Treatment can start at $400 with a smaller half-syringe dosage. Other products typically used to treat the cheeks such as Juvederm Voluma XC® may cost around $600-$800 per syringe.
